Fort Ordener

The fort of Vézelois is one of the most impressive works of the hide away camp of Belfort. Its principal mission was to keep an eye on the transportation routes and to protect other forts. It was built between 1883 and 1886. He was named with the name of the Empire general, Michel Ordener. This huge symmetric pentagon could receive a garrison of 500-600 men. It has barracks, gunpowder magazines and other locals as a kitchen, an infirmary and food shops. About 20 pieces of artillery are placed on the superstructures of the fort.
